Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Sconim Holdings LLC (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use the Embody app. Embody is built so that your practice stays on your phone: we keep as little as we can, and we never sell it.
The short version
- Your Realities, journal, assumptions and practice history are stored on your device, not on our servers.
- We don’t sell your information, show ads, or use analytics or advertising trackers.
- Subscriptions are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details.
Information kept on your device
Everything you create in Embody is stored on your device: your name if you add one, your Realities and what you save to them (links, photos, places, people, notes and prices), journal entries, assumptions, practice and streak history, and your settings.
It stays there until you erase it (You → Account & privacy → Erase data on this device) or delete the app. Your device may include it in its own backups, depending on your device settings. We can’t see it or recover it for you.
Technical information our server sees
Like any web service, our server receives your IP address, the time, the kind of request and basic device information when the app contacts it. We use this only to run the service and prevent abuse.
Links and photos
- Link previews: when you paste a link, the page is fetched so its title, photo and price can be shown. The website sees that request, from your device or, on the web version, from our server.
- Photos: the app can only use the photos you pick. They are stored on your device with the rest of your Realities.
Subscriptions
Purchases and free trials are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their terms. We use RevenueCat to confirm whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier created by the app, your purchase receipts and basic device information, under its own privacy policy. We receive your subscription status, never your name, email or payment details.
Reminders
If you turn on the weekly reminder, it is scheduled on your device. No push service is involved and nothing about it is sent to us. You can turn it off in the app or in your device settings.
What we don’t do
- Sell, rent or trade your information.
- Show ads, or share information with advertisers or data brokers.
- Use analytics or tracking tools, or track you across other apps and websites.
- Build a profile of you on our servers.
Your choices and rights
You control your data: you can edit or erase it in the app at any time, turn reminders off, and choose not to use the features that send text for a reply.
Depending on where you live (for example, in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of personal information, or to object to its use. Because almost everything stays on your device, we usually hold nothing about you beyond basic server logs. To ask about them or exercise a right, email contact@sconimholdings.com, and we’ll respond within the time the law requires.
Children
Embody is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in your country, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Security and where information is processed
Information sent between the app and our server is encrypted in transit. What stays on your device is protected by your device’s own security, such as your passcode. Our server and the services named here may process information in the United States and other countries, with safeguards as required by law.
Personalized replies
A few features, like the Assumption Coach, send the text involved through our server to a service provider that writes your reply. We don’t store it.
Those replies are written by artificial intelligence (AI) from Anthropic, our service provider, which may not use what you send to train its models. They may be inaccurate, and they are not professional advice.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date below, and for important changes we’ll let you know in the app before they take effect.
